چکیده
The aim of this paper is to discuss important issues for design and development of noninvasive blood glucometer. Noninvasive blood glucose monitoring could improve life quality of diabetes patients, enabling a better regulation of hyper and hypoglycemia conditions. Research to develop noninvasive glucose sensing technology is driven by the promise to provide in vivo glucose concentrations without pain, cost, and inconvenience of test strip meters. The optical approaches have brought exciting advances to this field. Till date several methods have been proposed for non invasive measurement of glucose level, present paper discusses their principle advantages and limitations. Most of these criteria center on selectivity of the analytical measurement, signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the instrumentation, physical and chemical properties of the measurement site, and robustness of the calibration model.

متن کاملEffects of optical clearing agents on noninvasive blood glucose monitoring with optical coherence tomography: a pilot study.
Recently, the capability of optical coherence tomography (OCT) has been demonstrated for noninvasive blood glucose monitoring. In this work, we investigate the administration of chemical agents onto human skin tissue to increase the transparency of the surface of the skin, as a means of improving the capability of OCT imaging for clinically relevant applications. Eight groups of experiments wer...
متن کاملNon-Invasive Determination of Blood Glucose Levels by Optical Waveguide
Objective: Today, there are various non-invasive techniques available for the determination of blood glucose levels. In this study, the level of blood glucose was determined by developing a new device using near-infrared (NIR) wavelength, glass optical waveguide, and the phenomenon of evanescent waves. Materials and Methods: The body's interstitial fluid has made possible the development of ne...

OBJECTIVE To study the feasibility of noninvasive blood glucose monitoring using optical coherence tomography (OCT) technique in healthy volunteers. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS An OCT system with the wavelength of 1,300 nm was used in 15 healthy subjects in 18 clinical experiments. Standard oral glucose tolerance tests were performed to induce changes in blood glucose concentration. Blood sam...
